Join community bankers from all over Washington for a look at the hot issues and to tell your legislators how their actions affect your customers, employees, and community.
Last year, community bankers across the state told legislators of the vital role their banks hold in their communities. This collective voice, a win in itself, led to a landmark victory imposing B&O tax on state-chartered credit unions that purchase community banks.
Then, community bankers spoke from every corner of the state to successfully urge the Governor to use his veto power to preserve the first mortgage interest tax deduction. This was a community bank issue and the independent community bank voice prevailed.
The 2026 Legislative Session will again be full of bills that impact community banks. They're already taking aim at the first mortgage interest tax deduction again, this time disguising it as funding to combat wildfires. We need YOU to tell your legislator how their actions will impact your community.
